The Residential Care Home provides a 'home' for 37 elderly people who are at varying stages of dependency. Some require no assistance but enjoy the security of knowing that staff are at hand if needed, others require assistance with bathing and other activities of daily living. The Home has 16 single rooms on the ground floor and 21 single rooms on the first floor level, with 7 steps or a passenger lift, plus 1 short stay room.
The majority of the rooms have small en-suite rooms with toilet and hand basin. If a resident has a room without an en-suite but prefers en-suite facilities, then it may be possible to move rooms within the Home if one becomes available. The cost of Residential care is inclusive of all meals, laundry, care, etc, but does not include luxury and personal items such as hairdressing, chiropody, toiletries, etc.
Independence is encouraged and residents who wish, are able to continue in the activites of the local Church life. Residents are able to attend the local Church for Sunday worship and also the mid-week meetings. A weekday service is held in the Home as well as a monthly Communion Service. Transport is provided for shopping in Connaught Avenue, Frinton on a Thursday morning and there are local shops nearby. For those who are unable to go out, a mobile shop visits the Home as does the Doctor, Hairdresser, Chiropodist, and other domiciliary services.
